Please join the FARE #NOTGOODENOUGH campaign to support government regulated alcohol & pregnancy warning labels.

Share this opportunity to influence the change to require EFFECTIVE, MANDATORY labelling http://www.fare.org.au/labelling/

Later this year, the Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation, is considering information on mandatory versus voluntary warnings, and the most appropriate messages to use to discourage drinking during pregnancy.  Research from Australia and New Zealand  (Rout, Hannan 2016; Siggins Miller 2017;  Coombers et al 2018 , Tinawai et al 2018)  has consistently found that the liquor industry voluntary messages are either missing entirely or wholly inadequate.

Along with a number of other health agencies, the Chair of the NZ Medical Association Dr Kate Baddock, has spoken out strongly in support of mandatory Government initiated alcohol & pregnancy warning labelling to replace the current voluntary attempt, which has been allowed to run for the past 6 years.
